Chase Howard
Associate Director

Chase Howard will be in his fourth year at Marcus High School during the 2016-17 school year. His responsibilities include direction of the Concert Band, conductor of the Marcus High School pit orchestra, and assistance with the Marching and Varsity Bands. Mr. Howard assists band students across the Marcus cluster and administers the private lesson program at Marcus. Prior to his teaching appointment at Marcus, Mr. Howard has served as assistant director at Hernandez Middle School in Round Rock, Texas.

Mr. Howard attended Louisiana State University where he earned Bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Music Performance. While at LSU, he studied clarinet with Robert DiLutis and performed as a clarinetist with the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, and Symphonic Band, conducted by Frank Wickes, Dr. Linda Moorhouse, and Roy King, respectively. Mr. Howard was a five year member of the LSU Golden Band from Tiger Land nd had the privilege of serving as Drum Major of the Tiger Band for two years.

Mr. Howard hails from Flower Mound, TX, where he graduated from Flower Mound High School. While there, he served as a three year All-State clarinetist in the Wind Symphony. In 2007, he was one of six finalists selected in the International Clarinet Association competition held in Vancouver, Canada. Mr. Howard is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association and is an active performer and clinician.
